Half Marathon

To ensure a smooth and consistent run, this race has implemented wave starts.

What is a wave start and how does it work?

Wave starts are designed to reduce race start congestion and improve your race day running experience. In a wave start, runners start in groups at 2 minute intervals. This way you can run with others who are similar in speed. A wave start will allow you plenty of space along the course, at the water stations and at the finish line, without affecting your chip time or the time you have to complete the race. On race day you will line up under / behind the banner that best fits your estimated running pace per mile, see chart below.

Start at Foster Park, at Ventura bike trail, turn right at trail head follow the bike path to the 10k turnaround point and head back towards the start / finish line.  Always stay to the right of the path / road during the entire race.  Total course elevation gain is 144 ft.

Please note: It is the athlete’s responsibility to know the entire race course BEFORE stepping onto the starting line.
